About the MCS-230 assignment

The MCS-230 assignment covers image dimensions and storage, image enhancement, histogram equalization, camera calibration, smoothing and sharpening filters, clustering, Bayesian classification, and optical flow. It also includes distance measures, image transforms, three-dimensional reconstruction, discriminant functions, and digital image representation.

There are 16 compulsory questions worth 5 marks each, making 80 marks for written work. The remaining 20 marks are for a compulsory viva voce. Students may include illustrations and diagrams and must follow the presentation guidelines in the Programme Guide.

What the assignment asks

QuestionMarksTopic
Questions 1–165 eachThe questions ask students to calculate image dimensions, storage and resolution; apply histogram equalization and two-cluster partitioning; and explain enhancement domains, camera calibration, low-pass and high-pass filters, Bayesian classification, optical flow, clustering distances, DCT versus DFT, Haar transforms, camera models for 3D reconstruction, discriminant functions, and image represent
