What SSB has announced

Sashastra Seema Bal issued a notice on 30 October 2026 setting out the skill/typing test schedule for Head Constable (Ministerial)-2020. This is a later-stage update for the recruitment of 115 candidates under Advertisement No. 338/RC/SSB/HC(Min)/2020, not a fresh application opportunity. Applications ran from 24 July 2021 to 22 August 2021.

Centre-wise commencement dates

Testing will start on 16 November 2026 at RTC SSB Alwar, 25th Battalion SSB at Ghitorni in New Delhi, and SSB Academy Bhopal. RTC SSB Supaul and Sector Headquarters SSB Gorakhpur will begin on 18 November 2026. These are centre-level commencement dates; candidates must check their admit cards for their individual allotted date, centre and reporting time.

Who should check the shortlist

The computer-based written examination took place on 7 July 2026, and candidates' marks were published on 14 October 2026. Display of those marks does not establish eligibility for the typing test. SSB will publish a separate category-wise shortlist based on the recruitment rules and vacancies. The announced limit is up to 15 times the vacancies in each category, so it must not be read as confirmation that exactly 1,725 candidates have qualified.

What candidates should do now

• Open the SSB recruitment portal and locate the Head Constable (Min)-2020 skill/typing test notice dated 30 October 2026.
• Download the schedule and check the category-wise shortlist when it is published.
• Once the skill test admit card entry becomes available, use the requested candidate login details to download and print it.
• Read the allotted test details and follow the admit card's document and reporting instructions.

Typing requirements and later stages

The prescribed typing speed is 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi, according to the original recruitment conditions. Candidates should practise in the applicable medium and monitor the portal for changes. Further notices will cover document verification, medical examination and final merit. Attendance at the skill test alone does not establish final selection or entitlement to appointment.
