  2. Admit card: An exam city slip and then the admit card are released a few days before the exam, with the exam date, shift and centre.
  3. Exam: Most exams are computer based (CBT) or OMR based. Some have more than one stage, such as prelims and mains or a skill test.
  4. Answer key: A provisional answer key and response sheet come out after the exam, with a window to raise objections. A final key follows.
  5. Result: The result gives qualified candidates, cut-off marks and scorecards for the next stage or the final merit list.
  6. Document verification and joining: Selected candidates attend document verification and a medical test where required, then get the joining letter.
