Eligibility / Qualification
- A Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a recognised university in Food Technology (including disciplines such as Food Engineering, Food Processing, Food Biotechnology and Food Safety and Quality Management), Dairy Technology, Biotechnology or Oil Technology; or
- A degree in disciplines deemed covered under Agricultural Science (Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Biotechnology, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Food Technology, Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Horticulture); or
- A degree in Veterinary Sciences, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or Medicine; or
- MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BAMS or Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery.
- Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject in Matric, or Hindi as a subject in higher education.
- The Food Authority training is given after appointment.

About This Update
Haryana Public Service Commission has given candidates a second chance to apply for Food Safety Officer (Group-B) under Advertisement No. 25/2026. The first application window closed at 5:00 PM on 19 October 2026. A re-open notice dated 21 October 2026 opened the form again from 22 October 2026, and it will now close at 5:00 PM on 28 October 2026. The 45 posts are in the Food & Drugs Administration Department, Haryana. Candidates who already applied need not apply again; those who applied but did not upload the signed application form can now upload it. Anyone wanting to correct an earlier form must cancel it and apply afresh, and the earlier fee is not adjusted or refunded.
Who Can Apply
The post is open to a wide range of science and health graduates. A Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology or Oil Technology qualifies, as does a degree in disciplines covered under Agricultural Science. Graduates in Veterinary Sciences, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or Medicine can also apply, along with MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BAMS and Sowa Rigpa degree holders. Applicants must also have studied Hindi or Sanskrit in Matric (or Hindi in higher education) and must be 18 to 42 years old, with eligibility judged as on 28 October 2026.

HPSC issued the exam dates with a revised syllabus on 16 October 2026; the syllabus notice of 15 October 2026 was withdrawn, so follow only the revised one.
