• Eligible officers may hold analogous posts, or posts in the Rs.24900-50500/- pay scale with three years of regular service in that grade.
• Alternatively, officers may have two years of regular service in the Rs.24900-50500/- grade and seven years of combined regular service in the Rs.24900-50500/- and Rs.20600-46500/- scales in the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Department of a Major Port Trust.
• Eligibility is assessed as on 1 December 2026, and vigilance and administrative clearance from the concerned Port are required.

• Complete the application on the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Online Application Portal between 6 November 2026 and 5 December 2026.
• Print the application submitted on OAP and give it to your administrative Port along with all required enclosures.
• Have the administrative Port forward the application and documents in an envelope marked 'Application for the post of Sr. Dy. Manager, Plant & Equipment Division, HDC, SMPA'.

The forwarding authority may send details of major or minor penalties during the preceding 10 years.

Selection conditions

The Service Selection Committee will select on merit, with an overall ACR/APAR benchmark of at least Very Good. An officer who withdraws after selection is liable to a two-year debarment from Dy. HoD-level selection across all Major Ports.
