• Consultant (Ayurveda): B.A.M.S. from a recognized university and at least five years of post-qualification experience.
• Senior Research Fellow (Ayurveda): B.A.M.S. from a recognized university.
• Junior Research Fellow: A degree in Ayurveda from a recognized university.
• Higher qualifications and previous research experience are preferred for these positions.
• Consultant desirable skills include Ksharasutra application, Agnikarma, Panchakarma, NABH accreditation work, computer applications and drafting or editing scientific and technical documents.
• Computer knowledge, including M.S. Office, is desirable for the JRF post.

• Email the completed application and documents to the institute's email address given in the official notification by 18 November 2026 at 5.00 PM.
• Online participants should check their email for the interview link and timings, which will be sent on or before 19 November 2026 at 5 PM.
• Offline participants must attend the Conference Hall of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Gangtok on 20 November 2026 from 10.00 am with original certificates and testimonials, copies and photographs.
• Appear for both the written test and interview. Candidates reporting after 10.30 am will not be admitted.

About the recruitment

Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Tadong, Gangtok has announced three contractual engagements through Advertisement No. 4/2026, dated 05-11-2026. The institute operates under CCRAS, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The openings cover a Consultant role, an SRF position for the SAMYOGA Project and a JRF position at the Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre for 2026-27.

Who can apply

The Consultant position requires a recognized B.A.M.S. degree together with at least five years of experience after qualification. A recognized B.A.M.S. degree is essential for SRF, while JRF applicants need a recognized degree in Ayurveda. Higher qualifications and research experience receive preference. Consultant applicants may also offer relevant clinical procedure skills, NABH accreditation experience, computer knowledge and scientific drafting skills. Computer knowledge is desirable for JRF.

The maximum age is 64 years for Consultant and 35 years for the two fellowship positions. Age is assessed on the interview date, 20 November 2026. Category-based relaxation follows Central Government rules.

• Send the form and required documents to the institute's email address specified in the notification by 18 November 2026, 5.00 PM.
• Online participants will receive the link and schedule by email on or before 19 November 2026, 5 PM.
• Physical participants should report to the institute's Conference Hall on 20 November 2026 from 10.00 am. Entry is not allowed after 10.30 am.

Candidates must take both the written test and interview. Original documents, a set of copies and passport photographs must be produced before the selection committee.

Contract conditions

The initial engagement lasts six months and may be curtailed or extended. These appointments do not provide a claim to continued service or regular employment. Leave is limited to a proportionate maximum of 12 days in a calendar year. No TA/DA is payable for attending the selection process. Selected candidates must provide an undertaking with their joining report, and the institute may postpone or cancel the test and interview.
