• Applicants must be Indian citizens.
• Biostatistician: M.Sc. in Statistics from a recognized university, followed by at least 8 years of professional experience in Statistics. A PhD and experience with medical colleges, health institutes or organizations handling biomedical and public health data are preferred.
• Residential Medical Officers (Ayurveda): MD/MS in Ayurveda from a recognized university, recognized under the NCISM Act 2020, with at least 8 years of experience as a faculty member, Medical Officer, Consultant or SRF in a Central/State Government, autonomous organization or public sector body.
• Consultant (Pharmacy), route 1: MD (Ayurveda) in Rasa Shastra/Dravyaguna or M.Pharma in Ayurveda from a recognized university with NCISM recognition, plus at least 5 years of medicine-manufacturing experience.
• Consultant (Pharmacy), route 2: B.Pharma in Ayurveda from a recognized university with NCISM recognition, plus at least 7 years of medicine-manufacturing experience.

• Obtain the prescribed application form from the official NEIAH website or the end of the notification PDF.
• Complete the form and provide your postal address, email address and mobile number.
• Attach self-attested supporting certificates, mark sheets and testimonials, along with two recent passport-size photographs. Use a self-attested photograph in the space provided on the form.
• Where the application is forwarded through an employer or sponsoring authority, include the required vigilance and disciplinary-clearance certificate.
• Mark the envelope with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ...”, inserting the post name.
• Address it to The Director, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, Meghalaya – 793018.

About the recruitment

NEIAH, Shillong, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has issued notification EST-No. 13017/1/2024-Administration Division/ H-3018 dated 30 October 2026. It covers six contractual positions: four Residential Medical Officers in Ayurveda, one Biostatistician and one Consultant (Pharmacy). The initial engagement is up to 31 March 2027, with the competent authority retaining the power to extend or curtail it.

Who can apply

These posts are for Indian citizens with the prescribed qualifications and professional experience. The Statistics and Medical Officer positions each require at least eight years of the specified experience. Pharmacy Consultant applicants have two qualification routes, requiring either five or seven years of medicine-manufacturing experience. A PhD and relevant health-data experience are preferred for the Biostatistician post.

The upper age limits are 55 years for the Biostatistician and Medical Officers, and 45 years for the Pharmacy Consultant. Age is assessed on the interview date, while essential qualifications and other conditions must be met by the application closing date.

Speed Post, Registered Post and the designated Drop Box are the accepted submission methods; courier is excluded. The application must arrive by 14 November 2026. Postal delays do not extend this deadline.

Selection and appointment conditions

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend a written test, skill test or interview at their own expense. The Director's decisions on eligibility, application acceptance, selection method and post allotment are final. Appointment depends on physical fitness, and incorrect information can lead to disqualification or dismissal.
