More Information
Three specialist roles at IISER Pune
IISER Pune has issued Advertisement No. 85/2026, dated 30 October 2026, for three temporary contractual appointments. Each role has one vacancy: Technical Officer / Lead in Science Communication and Technical Writing, Technical Assistant in Video Post-Production and Editing, and Technical Assistant in Graphic Design and Science Illustration. Only Indian nationals may attend the selection process.
Match your background to the work
The Officer / Lead role combines content-team leadership, visual storytelling, script development, grant applications, institutional reporting and media communication. It requires a relevant master's degree and at least three years of specified experience. The video role involves editing lectures, MOOC material and outreach videos, handling audio synchronization and basic motion graphics, assembling multi-camera footage and archiving media. The graphic design role focuses on scientific diagrams, publication graphics, cover art and educational visual assets. Both Assistant roles require at least one year of relevant experience and the specified software skills.
Attend the walk-in with complete paperwork
- Download and complete the prescribed application form, recording all qualifications and experience.
- Carry original date-of-birth, educational and experience documents, a government-issued photo ID and the required self-attested copies.
- Bring one recent passport-size colour photograph.
- Report to C-101, Guest House, IISER Pune Campus at 10:00 AM on 18 November 2026. Arrival after 10:30 AM excludes candidates from selection.
Screening and appointment conditions
If attendance is high, the Screening Committee may restrict interviews by considering qualifications and experience beyond the prescribed minimum. Meeting the basic eligibility conditions therefore does not assure an interview.
The initial engagement lasts one year, with extension dependent on satisfactory performance and the position's requirements. These appointments do not provide a claim to absorption at IISER Pune. Monthly consolidated remuneration is Rs. 45,000–50,000 for Officer / Lead and Rs. 32,000–35,000 for the Assistant posts, according to qualifications and experience. Vacancy numbers may change during selection. No TA/DA is payable for attending, and waitlisted candidates may receive an offer if a selected candidate does not join or later resigns.
