About the CTE-04 assignment

The CTE-04 assignment covers English teaching at the elementary level, including listening, reading comprehension, writing, communication and inclusive education. It also examines the difficulties underprivileged learners face when learning English and how teachers can support them.

This tutor-marked assignment has five compulsory questions worth 100 marks in total. Question 1 requires short notes on four of six topics, carrying 5 marks each. Questions 2–5 carry 20 marks each. The guidelines emphasise applying course ideas to teaching situations rather than reproducing material from the units.

  • Use simple, correct English and organise your answers logically.
  • Base your answers on your understanding of the units and teaching situations rather than copying passages from the course material.

  • Keep a copy of your assignment and obtain a receipt from your Study Centre when submitting it.
  • Attempt only the course you have chosen from CTE-04 and CTE-05, even though the booklet includes both.
