Recruitment and interview schedule

ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha has issued Advertisement No. 02 of 2026, dated 27 October 2026, for 75 contractual Teaching Faculty and Senior Resident positions. Interviews for Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor are scheduled for 17 November 2026. Senior Resident candidates have a separate interview date of 18 November 2026.

Reporting begins at 9:00 AM. Candidates arriving after 10:00 AM will be marked absent. The interview venue is specified in the official notification.

Eligibility and assessment

The qualification framework covers MBBS, MD/MS/DNB and other relevant postgraduate qualifications according to NMC norms. Eligibility must be checked against the particular post and specialty. The upper age limits, calculated on 31.10.2026, are 67 years for faculty, 45 years for clinical Senior Residents and 50 years for non-clinical or para-clinical Senior Residents.

Selection involves document verification followed by an interview before the constituted selection board. Academic credentials and interview performance form the basis of assessment. Candidates whose documents have not been verified cannot proceed to the interview, and applicants on deputation are not accepted.

• Prepare the completed offline application printout and self-attested copies of the prescribed documents.
• Keep the Class 10 date-of-birth certificate, MBBS marksheets, attempt and degree certificates, updated medical registration, applicable category certificate, publication proof and experience certificate ready.
• Bring a recent passport-size photograph and the required relieving letter or NOC. Employees of government, autonomous or statutory institutions must submit an NOC at the interview.
• Where payable, bring a Rs. 500 demand draft in favour of 'ESI Fund A/c No. 1', payable at Bhubaneswar.

Pay and contract conditions

The stated pay figures are Rs.2,60,972 for Professor, Rs.1,67,056 for Associate Professor and Rs.1,43,524 for Assistant Professor and Senior Resident, with admissible allowances under ESIC norms. Transport allowance with DA is also provided.

The initial contract lasts one year, with extension possible up to three years in total, subject to satisfactory performance and institutional requirements. Appointment ends upon a regular faculty member or incumbent joining, or attainment of the maximum age limit. Private practice is prohibited after joining.
