• Technical: A Civil Engineering degree from a recognized university or institute, with relevant experience in DPR appraisal, design review, construction supervision, contract management or quality control for highway, bridge or tunnel projects.
• Human Resources: An MBA in HR or an equivalent recognized qualification, with relevant experience in recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, service matters, training or HR policy implementation.

• Information Technology: B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science, IT, Networks or Electronics & Communication; M.Tech. in Cyber Security or Network Management; or MCA from a recognized university or institute, with relevant IT experience.
• Every post requires 2–9 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years (730 days) in the National Highways Sector.
• Essential qualifications must have recognition from AICTE, UGC or State Technical Boards, as applicable.
• For Technical positions, a master's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or a relevant allied discipline is preferred.

Recruitment and eligibility

NHIDCL has announced 25 Senior Associate engagements through Advertisement No. 08/2026, dated 4 November 2026. The positions cover Technical, Human Resources, Legal and Information Technology work at NHIDCL Headquarters in New Delhi. These are contractual consultancy assignments rather than appointments as NHIDCL employees.

Applicants need the discipline-specific degree and 2–9 years of relevant post-qualification experience. At least 730 days must be in the National Highways Sector; applicants without this experience are not eligible. The maximum age is 45 years on the advertisement's issue date. A relevant master's qualification is desirable for Technical applicants.

The fee includes taxes, with no additional allowance; the scheme provides for a 5% annual enhancement.

The initial term is two years, potentially extendable by one year, with continuation subject to Consultants' Review Committee decisions. Engagement also depends on successful background verification.
