• Senior Project Associate: B.E., B.Tech or M.Tech in CSE, IT, ECE or a related domain from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification, together with four years of experience in research and development, industrial or academic institutions, science and technology organizations, or scientific activities and services.
• Junior Research Fellow: First Division B.E., B.Tech or M.Sc. in CSE, IT, ECE or a related domain from a recognized university or institution, with NET/GATE; alternatively, M.E. or M.Tech with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.

DIAT project recruitment overview

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, has issued Advertisement No. 33-2026/SPA/JRF/DIAT for a walk-in selection covering two project positions. The institute functions under the Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence. The selected candidates will work in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering on the MEITY-sponsored project titled “Enabling Explainable and Privacy Preserving AI for Security and Surveillance”.

Who can attend

The openings are for one Senior Project Associate and one Junior Research Fellow. Relevant qualifications must be in CSE, IT, ECE or a related domain. The SPA position requires the specified engineering qualification and four years of relevant experience. For JRF, the qualifying routes are a First Division B.E., B.Tech or M.Sc. with NET/GATE, or an M.E./M.Tech with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.

The upper-age limits are 40 years for SPA and 28 years for JRF, assessed on 4 November 2026. The notice provides category-based relaxation for SC, ST, women, PwBD and OBC (NCL) candidates.

• Report at DIAT, Girinagar, Pune - 411 025 on 4 November 2026 at 1100 Hrs.
• Bring original certificates and testimonials, together with one attested set of copies, for detailed scrutiny.

Terms of engagement

The appointment lasts four months or until the project concludes, whichever is earlier. Monthly stipends are Rs. 42,000 for SPA and Rs. 37,000 for JRF, with 30% HRA for each. Medical support is limited to MI Room facilities.

These temporary appointments do not provide a right to absorption at DIAT. Engagement may be ended with one month's notice, and no TA is payable for attending the interview.
