The MCFT-004 assignment explores practical aspects of counselling and family therapy, including reflection, the therapist’s self, therapy phases, sociodrama, life skills and countertransference. It also covers specific counselling techniques and behaviours.
This tutor-marked assignment has two compulsory sections worth 100 marks altogether. Section A contains six descriptive questions worth 10 marks each, with a maximum of 300 words per answer. Section B contains eight short-note topics worth 5 marks each, requiring about 150 words per note.

How to write and submit it
- Answer every question in both sections. Keep each Section A answer within 300 words and each Section B note to about 150 words.
- Handwrite your responses rather than typing or printing them. Copying from university study materials can result in zero marks for the question, while copying another student’s responses can lead to rejection.
- On the first page, put your enrolment number, name, full address, signature and date at the top right; put the programme title, course code and title, assignment code and study centre name at the top left.
- Use A4 ruled paper, leave a 4 cm left margin and at least four lines between answers, and secure the pages together. Avoid very thin paper.
- Keep each course assignment on separate sheets. Number every answer and finish all questions in one section before starting the next.
- Submit to the Coordinator or Programme Incharge of your allotted Study Centre or Programme Study Centre, not to the Student Evaluation Division at headquarters.
- Obtain and retain a submission receipt, and keep a photocopy of your completed assignment.
- If you have requested a study centre change, continue submitting to the original centre until the university officially notifies the change.
