How to write and submit it

  • Handwrite your answers in your own words; printed or typed responses are not accepted. Copying from course units can earn zero for the question, while copying another student's responses can lead to rejection.
  • On the first page, put your enrolment number, name, full address, signature and date at the top right, and programme title, course code and title, assignment code and study centre name at the top left.
  • Use A4 ruled paper, leave a 4 cm left margin and at least four lines between answers, and fasten the pages securely.
  • Keep each course assignment on separate sheets rather than writing different assignments continuously.
  • Answer every question, include the question number with each answer, and finish one section before moving to the next. Keep Section A answers within 300 words each and Section B notes to about 150 words each.
  • Submit the completed assignment to the Coordinator or Programme Incharge of your allotted study centre, not to the Student Evaluation Division at headquarters.
  • Obtain and retain a submission receipt, and keep a photocopy of your assignment.
  • If you have requested a study centre change, continue submitting to the original centre until IGNOU officially notifies the change.

Submission dates: 31 March 2027 (June 2027 term-end examination); 30 September 2026 (December 2026 term-end examination)
