More Information

Recruitment overview

District Health & Family Welfare Samity, Birbhum has announced 47 contractual openings under the National Health Mission through advertisement DHFWS-II/HR-2026/774, dated 5 November 2026. The nine roles cover nursing, community health, rehabilitation, tuberculosis services, medical care and ASHA programme coordination. The approved selection panel will remain valid for up to one year from its approval date.

Eligibility and posting conditions

Applicants must meet the qualification and experience requirements of their chosen role. West Bengal permanent residency and knowledge of local languages are required. Community Health Assistant vacancies are restricted to women who are permanent residents of Birbhum and proficient in Bengali. Block Programme Coordinator applicants must also be permanent residents of Birbhum and willing to travel extensively. STLS applicants need a permanent two-wheeler driving licence and the ability to ride.

Experience is counted only after completion of the essential qualification and up to the application closing date. All essential criteria must be satisfied by that date.

Application schedule and deadline discrepancy

Online applications begin at 11 a.m. on 6 November 2026, and final submission closes at midnight on 27 November 2026. However, the application instructions give 25 November 2026 for registration and payment, while the Important Dates table gives 27 November 2026 for both. Candidates should verify these two deadlines in the official notification.

Register through the official recruitment portal, retain the application ID and registration number, pay the category-wise fee once, upload the photograph and signature, and complete final submission after payment succeeds. The downloaded application printout must be retained for verification rather than posted.

Verification and assessment

Original testimonials are required for verification. Relevant category certificates must be issued by a competent West Bengal authority on or before the closing date. Staff Nurse applicants need their WBNC registration or provisional certificate; Community Health Assistant applicants need residence proof attested by a Gazetted Officer or Group A officer.

Selection is post-specific rather than a single common examination. Incomplete forms or details that differ from original records may lead to cancellation. SC, ST, OBC or disability claims cannot be added after submission, and applicants who are absent or ineligible at any stage will not proceed further.
