CIP Ranchi tutor recruitment update

Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, is accepting offline applications under Advertisement No. F.No.A.12018/1/2024-Estt for three tutor positions. The recruitment covers Psychiatric Social Work and Clinical Psychology, with posting at Ranchi. Application submission began on 10 October 2026 and closes on 1 November 2026; the completed application must reach the institute by that date.

Eligibility and engagement terms

Applicants need the specified first- or second-class master's qualification and the relevant M.Phil. For Clinical Psychology Tutor, the M.Phil must be a two-year qualification in Medical & Social Psychology or Clinical Psychology. The upper age limit is 45 years on 1 November 2026, with the stated category relaxations. A candidate can apply to only one department.

Both positions carry Level-6 pay of Rs. 35400-112400. These are tenure-based engagements for a maximum of three years. The initial appointment is for six months, followed by annual extensions subject to satisfactory performance. Inter-hospital or inter-institutional transfers are not permitted.

Examination and assessment

The written examination is scheduled for 4 November 2026. The relevant-subject theory paper is an MCQ test lasting one hour and carrying 60 marks. A correct response earns four marks, an incorrect response loses one mark, and an unanswered question has no penalty. Theory contributes 60% of selection weightage; departmental assessment contributes 40% and includes publications and awards.

No TA/DA is payable for selection. Earlier applications received by the hospital will be treated as cancelled, and the advertised vacancy numbers may change.
