• M.Sc in Basic/Life Science with at least 55% marks, preferably in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Microbiology or Bioinformatics; or M.V.Sc with specialization in Animal Biochemistry, Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Microbiology or Animal Physiology.
• Candidates qualified in NET/GATE/CSIR-UGC will receive preference.
• Desirable knowledge includes basic molecular and analytical techniques, cell culture, gene and protein expression, cancer biology and basic computer operation.

OUAT JRF Walk-in Overview

The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, OUAT, Bhubaneswar has issued Advertisement No. 05/CCRH/Biochem, dated 28 October 2026, for one Junior Research Fellow in the Department of Veterinary Biochemistry. Selection involves document verification followed by a walk-in interview on 26 November 2026. The work includes laboratory duties, field visits and project-related office assistance.

Who Can Attend

The qualification route is an M.Sc in Basic/Life Science with at least 55% marks, preferably in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Microbiology or Bioinformatics, or an M.V.Sc specializing in Animal Biochemistry, Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Microbiology or Animal Physiology. The maximum age is 35 years on the interview date. NET/GATE/CSIR-UGC qualification receives preference. Knowledge of molecular and analytical techniques, cell culture, gene and protein expression, cancer biology and basic computer operation is desirable.

Interview-Day Procedure

• Complete and sign the prescribed Annexure-I application.
• Report by 2 PM on 26 November 2026 at the Conference Hall of the college for document verification.
• Bring original certificates and mark sheets from matriculation through post-graduation, attested copies, age proof, two recent passport-size photographs and updated bio-data.
• Carry experience certificates and a no objection certificate from the current employer, where applicable.
• Submit the application and supporting testimonials, then attend the interview at 02.30 PM.

Required originals must be produced to be allowed to appear. No TA/DA will be paid for attending. Any schedule changes will be announced on the OUAT website.

Pay and Appointment Conditions

Monthly consolidated pay is Rs 37000 for the first two years and Rs 42000 for the third year, with HRA as applicable. The engagement is initially for six months, with possible extension subject to satisfactory performance and project tenure. The stated duration is three years or project completion, whichever occurs earlier.

This appointment does not create a right to regular employment under OUAT or the Government. The engagement may be ended without notice or an assigned reason, while a candidate wishing to leave must give the Principal Investigator one month's notice. Concealment of facts or canvassing can lead to disqualification or termination.
