• A full-time Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university/institute approved by AICTE/UGC is required as on 01.10.2026.
• Applicants must have at least five years of post-qualification experience as on 01.10.2026 in electrical construction, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning/TRD maintenance in Railways, Metro Rail or power transmission/distribution utilities.

• Degree percentages must not be rounded off. Use the consolidated marksheet, or the average of all semesters/years where a consolidated marksheet is not issued.
• Grade-to-percentage conversion must follow the institution's rules. Where no conversion rule exists, 6 on a 10-point scale is treated as 60%, with other scales proportionately converted.
• Candidates must be in sound health and free from colour blindness; medical standards will not be relaxed.

Recruitment and project assignment

IRCON International Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has issued Advertisement C-12/2026 dated 23.10.2026 for 37 contractual Manager/Electrical positions. These appointments are for Northeast Frontier Railway projects under the Lumding and Tinsukia Divisions, rather than IRCON's regular establishment. The vacancy requirement may be revised.

Who can attend

Applicants must hold a full-time Electrical Engineering bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade and have five years of relevant post-qualification experience by 01.10.2026. The maximum age on that date is 50 years, with relaxation governed by Government of India guidelines. Relevant work must concern the specified electrical activities in Railways, Metro Rail or power transmission/distribution utilities; teaching, training, consultancy and freelance experience are excluded.

Candidates may apply whether employed or not on the cut-off date. Former IRCON contract employees whose services ended following project closure may also apply if eligible, but must provide their termination letter. Any resulting appointment will be treated as fresh employment.

Walk-in schedule and preparation

Kolkata interviews will be held on 19 and 20 November 2026, while Guwahati interviews are scheduled for 23 November 2026. Registration opens at 09:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm; interviews start at 10:00 AM.

• Bring original certificates and one photocopy set covering age, qualifications, community and experience.
• Arrange experience certificates chronologically. Currently employed applicants must also bring their last two months' salary slips; an offer letter alone is insufficient.

Original supporting certificates are necessary for the interview. The process may continue beyond one day depending on attendance, and requests to change the date, time or venue will not be accepted.

Pay and appointment conditions

Monthly consolidated pay is Rs. 60,000/-, with a 5% increment after each completed service year and no additional allowances. The initial 18-month contract is subject to satisfactory performance and may be extended for another year according to performance and project requirements. Employment ends with the project and does not create a right to regular absorption or placement in another IRCON project.
