Contract role and project
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has issued Notification No. KR/JK/HO/P-R/1C/2026 dated 22.10.2026 for one UR vacancy of SSE/STA (S&T). The fixed-term engagement is initially for five years and supports the integrated maintenance contract for the Katra (excluding)–Banihal (excluding) section of Northern Railway in Jammu & Kashmir.
Eligibility and remuneration
The post requires a four-year bachelor's degree in one of the listed engineering disciplines or M.Sc Electronics from a recognized university or institute. Candidates must also have at least one year of railway working experience. The upper age limit is 30 years as on 01/10/2026.
Consolidated monthly pay is Rs. 52,060 for C Class cities, Rs. 55,600 for B Class cities and Rs. 59,140 for A Class cities. These amounts include the specified pay and allowances. A 3% increase after every two completed years is subject to project requirements and KRCL's discretion.
Attending the walk-in
- Complete the application using Annexure A attached to the notification.
- Bring original certificates and one set of self-attested copies, along with the prescribed photographs and supporting certificates.
- Report on 18.11.2026 to the USBRL Project Office at Jyotipuram Road, Trintha, Post Gran Morh, Reasi, Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir (U.T), PIN-182311.
- Complete registration between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs with the nominated official.
Applications submitted in person will undergo preliminary screening. KRCL may introduce a Group Discussion or another elimination test depending on the number of candidates. Final merit will take account of the interview, qualification and post-qualification experience.
Conditions to consider
Candidates must be ready to stay for at least two days if required and meet their own expenses. No travel reimbursement is payable for attending selection. The selected candidate must pass the prescribed medical examination and be able to join within 30 days of the appointment offer.
The engagement does not confer a right to regular absorption. Agreement and surety bonds on Rs. 100 stamp paper are required, including a three-year service commitment. Early resignation within the bond period attracts the stated notice-pay and training-cost recovery conditions. KRCL will not provide accommodation, food or a food/mess allowance.
