Who can apply

The position requires a master's degree in Biotechnology, supported by sound knowledge and practical experience in handling instruments used in molecular biology research. Screening and interview

Applications will be assessed through a prescribed scorecard. Higher Secondary marks contribute proportionately, with 70% corresponding to 7 out of 10 marks. Gold medals receive 2 marks each and merit scholarships 1 mark each, subject to a combined maximum of 6 marks. Technical or computer diplomas carry 2 marks each, capped at 4, while work experience carries 3 marks per year up to 15. NCC, NSS, sports and cultural certificates can contribute up to 5 marks.

The overall assessment is for 100 marks, including 20 for the interview. No more than 10 candidates will be shortlisted. The eligible-candidate merit list will appear on the University website without individual correspondence, and interview attendance will not attract TA or DA.

Engagement conditions

The maximum tenure is one year, with a possible extension of up to another year depending on satisfactory performance. The competent authority may end the appointment with one month's prior notice without stating a reason. This engagement creates no claim to permanent employment or preference for a regular University post. Duties may include other official assignments in addition to laboratory work.
