• Junior Project Fellow: A postgraduate degree from a recognised university with at least 55% marks in Remote Sensing and GIS, Environment Science, Geoinformatics, Life Science, Forestry, Geography, Earth Science, Hydrology or Physics. Reserved category candidates require at least 50% marks.
• Junior Project Fellow desirable experience: RS/GIS software, fieldwork in Uttarakhand, image processing and remote sensing/GIS projects or industries, GPS use and appropriate computer knowledge.

USAC project recruitment overview

Uttarakhand Space Application Centre, under the Government of Uttarakhand's Department of Information Technology, Suraaj and Science Technology, has issued Advertisement No. 10/2026 for five temporary project positions. The recruitment covers four Junior Project Fellows and one Field Assistant for ongoing state-funded projects. Selection will be through a walk-in interview on 4 November 2026 at 10:30 AM.

Who can attend

Junior Project Fellow candidates need a recognised postgraduate degree in one of the specified subjects, including Remote Sensing and GIS, Environment Science, Geoinformatics, Life Science, Forestry, Geography, Earth Science, Hydrology or Physics. The minimum marks requirement is 55%, or 50% for reserved category candidates. Relevant RS/GIS software knowledge, GPS experience, image-processing work and fieldwork in Uttarakhand are desirable.

Field Assistant candidates need a recognised graduate degree and appropriate computer knowledge. Experience of working in Uttarakhand's hilly areas is desirable. General-category upper age limits are 28 years for Junior Project Fellow and 42 years for Field Assistant, assessed on 1 January 2026. SC, ST and OBC relaxation follows the applicable rules.

Preparing for the walk-in

• Prepare an application addressed to the Director, Uttarakhand Space Application Centre, Dehradun.
• Attach photocopies of all certificates and the Aadhaar card, along with a passport-size photograph. These attachments are compulsory.
• Carry original records, other certificates and the Aadhaar card.
• Attend at Upper Amwala, Nalapani, Dehradun-248008 on the stated date and time.

Pay and contract conditions

Monthly remuneration is Rs. 24,000 plus 16% HRA for Junior Project Fellows and Rs. 18,000 plus 16% HRA for the Field Assistant. Appointments are contractual and extend up to March 2027. They end automatically when the fixed project period finishes and do not create any entitlement to regularisation or absorption at the Centre.

The Centre may terminate a contract if performance is unsatisfactory and may choose not to fill the vacancies. No TA/DA is payable for attending the interview. The Director's decision is final and binding.
