Training opportunity and eligibility

NLC India Limited has issued Advertisement No. L&DC/04/2026 for 1,067 apprenticeship slots at Neyveli and Regional Office, Chennai. The intake covers 700 ITI Trade Apprentices and 367 Graduate Non-Engineering Apprentices. Both categories have a 12-month training period; completion does not create a right to temporary or permanent employment.

Only applicants hailing from Tamil Nadu or Puducherry are eligible. Candidates must have completed 18 years by 31 October 2026. ITI applicants need the relevant trade qualification, while graduate applicants need the prescribed regular full-time degree from a UGC-approved university. The graduate passing years are restricted to 2022–2026; no such restriction is specified for ITI applicants. Previous or ongoing NAPS/NATS apprenticeship or PM internship training makes a candidate ineligible under the stated conditions.

Application and document preparation

Applications opened on 21 October 2026 at 10:00 AM and close on 9 November 2026 at 5:00 PM. Open the official apprenticeship portal, select the relevant discipline, enter personal and qualification details, and upload the applicable documents. Graduate certificates and marksheets must be combined in the prescribed merged file, as must ITI certificates and marksheets. Graduates awaiting their 2026 provisional certificate can use the prescribed temporary certificate on institutional letterhead, signed and sealed by the Principal. A CGPA/OGPA conversion certificate may also be required. OBC-NCL applicants need the prescribed Government-format certificate valid from 1 April 2026; missing applicable reservation certificates leads to consideration under the General category.

Merit, stipend and upcoming dates

Selection depends on qualifying-examination marks rather than a separate written test. University conversion rules apply to graduate grades; without an established method, the grade or CGPA is multiplied by 10. Equal percentages at the cut-off are resolved in favour of the older candidate.

Monthly stipends are Rs. 12,000 for ITI apprentices, Rs. 14,174 for the specified graduate disciplines, and Rs. 16,678 for Pharmacy and Nursing. Graduate amounts include Rs. 6,150 payable through Government DBT.
