• Associate Professor: A good academic record, a PhD in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline, and a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade are required.
• Associate Professor: Applicants need at least eight years of teaching and/or research experience in a position equivalent to Assistant Professor at a university, college, accredited research institution or industry, at least seven peer-reviewed/UGC-listed publications, and an academic/research score of 75 under Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Regulations, 2018.
• Professor, Route A: Applicants must be eminent scholars with a relevant PhD, active research engagement, at least 10 peer-reviewed/UGC-listed research publications and an Academic/Research Score of 120. They also need at least ten years of qualifying teaching and/or equivalent research experience, with evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.
• Professor, Route B: Outstanding professionals from industry or academic institutions outside Route A must hold a relevant PhD, demonstrate significant contributions to the discipline through documentary evidence, and have ten years of experience.
• PhD holders whose Master's degree was obtained before 19 September 1991 may receive a reduction in the required Master's marks from 55% to 50%. Grade B on the UGC seven-point scale is equivalent to 55%.
• Foreign postgraduate or PhD qualifications require an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
