• Project Nurse-II: A three-year General Nursing and Midwifery course from a recognized institution is required.
• Project Technical Support-III: A three-year graduate degree in a relevant subject or field with three years of relevant post-qualification experience, or a relevant postgraduate degree, is required.
• Relevant technical support subjects include Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Biomedical Sciences.
• A four-year graduate degree in Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science is eligible where it is relevant to the assigned project functions, including laboratory data systems or sample tracking.
• All qualifications must be from recognized universities or institutions. Subject equivalence and eligibility will follow applicable ICMR guidelines; higher qualifications do not waive essential requirements.
• Desirable nursing credentials include State Nursing Council registration, relevant clinical or research experience, assessment and documentation skills, Hindi/Marathi/English communication, computer skills and Good Clinical Practice training or willingness to complete protocol-specific training.
• Desirable technical skills include sample processing, ELISA, pipetting, cold-chain and inventory management, laboratory quality control, biosafety, record keeping and computer-based data entry. Desirable criteria do not create an additional mandatory experience requirement for an otherwise eligible qualification route.

About the recruitment

AIIMS Nagpur has issued advertisement AIIMS-NAG/Anaesth/2026/1731, dated 03/11/2026, for two positions in its Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care. The appointments support SMRITI, an ICMR-funded multicentre trial comparing intravenous and inhalational anaesthesia for postoperative delirium prevention in geriatric surgery. One position is available for Project Nurse-II and one for Project Technical Support-III.

Eligibility and appointment terms

The nursing position requires a three-year General Nursing and Midwifery course. The technical support position accepts a relevant three-year graduate degree with three years of relevant post-qualification experience, or a relevant postgraduate degree. Relevant four-year Engineering, IT and Computer Science degrees are also eligible for the specified project functions. Desirable skills are preferences rather than additional mandatory experience requirements for an otherwise eligible route.

Both posts carry a maximum age of 30 years and monthly remuneration of ₹24000, including ₹20000 plus 20% HRA. The initial appointment is for nine months in Year 1. These are temporary project positions, not regular AIIMS or ICMR appointments. Renewal depends on project needs, available funding, performance and institutional approval.
