About the vacancy

GMCH-32 Chandigarh’s Department of General Surgery has one Project Technical Support-III vacancy for an ICMR, Delhi-sponsored study. The research examines interventions aimed at healthcare professionals to reduce surgical site infections and the challenges in adopting those interventions. The appointment is temporary, lasts until May 2027 and carries consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs.34,692.

Eligibility and work involved

Applicants can qualify through a relevant three-year graduate degree plus three years of experience, or through a relevant postgraduate qualification. The upper age limit is 35 years, with age, qualifications and experience assessed on 7 November 2026. Related research experience, NET/GATE/CSIR/UGC qualification, antimicrobial stewardship knowledge and REDCap experience are preference factors.

The role includes work relating to antimicrobial prescriptions, collecting data from emergency and elective surgical patients, and following up patients for surgical site infections. It also involves contact with surgical teams. Emergency duties, field visits and outstation travel may be required.
