• Registrar: officers of Central/State Govt., UT, autonomous organisations or PSUs holding an analogous post on a regular basis, with experience in administration, establishment or academic matters.
• Director (Head Office): officers holding an analogous post on a regular basis, with relevant experience in administration, establishment, admissions or academic matters.
• Director (Finance & Accounts): officers holding an analogous post on a regular basis, with relevant experience in financial, accounting and audit matters.
• Campus Director: officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis, with at least 2 years at the level of Director, Govt. of India or equivalent, and experience in administrative, establishment, admissions or academic matters.
• Applicants must be Indian citizens; officers already on deputation are not eligible.
• Ad hoc, contract, part-time or consultant service does not count as experience. The notice does not specify a minimum educational qualification.

• Download Advertisement No. 03/Estt./NIFT-HO/2026-27 with the proforma and Annexures II to VI.
• Fill in the Bio-Data/CV proforma (Annexure-I), mention the advertisement number and post, and paste a recent photograph self-attested by signing across it.
• Attach a Statement of Purpose of up to 1000 words and self-attested copies of qualification, experience and age documents.
• Get your forwarding authority to complete and sign Annexures II to VI, including integrity, penalty, vigilance and cadre clearance certificates and five years of APARs.
• Send the application through your parent office to The Registrar, NIFT Campus, Hauz Khas, Near Gulmohar Park, New Delhi-110016, so that it reaches by 5:00 PM on 20 November 2026.
• Submit a separate application for each post; Campus Director applicants must list three campus preferences.

About This Recruitment

The National Institute of Fashion Technology, set up in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles and governed by the NIFT Act 2006, has 20 campuses across India. Through Advertisement No. 03/Estt./NIFT-HO/2026-27, published on 21 October 2026, it is filling 19 senior administrative posts on deputation for three years, with no further extension. The Registrar and both Director posts are at the New Delhi head office, while the 16 Campus Directors will be posted at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kolkata, Kannur, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong and Srinagar.

Who Can Apply

The posts are meant for serving officers of Central or State Governments, UTs, autonomous organisations and PSUs who hold an analogous post on a regular basis. Campus Director applicants also need two years at Director level in the Government of India or an equivalent grade. Candidates must be no older than 56 on the closing date, and those already on deputation cannot apply.

What To Do Now

• Download the advertisement and fill in Annexure-I carefully, one form per post.
• Write the Statement of Purpose, covering why you want to join NIFT, why you are suitable, the value you will bring and a defining professional experience.
• Ask your parent office early for the integrity certificate, penalty or NIL certificate, vigilance and cadre clearance, and APARs for 2020-21 to 2024-25.
• Make sure the forwarded application reaches NIFT New Delhi by 5:00 PM on 20 November 2026.

Points To Remember

• Applications without APARs will not be considered, and every page must be attested by an officer not below Under Secretary rank.
• The forwarding office must certify that you will be relieved within one month of an offer.
• Campus Directors can be transferred to any NIFT campus, even outside their chosen preferences.
• No TA/DA is paid for the interview, and all communication will be by email.
