More Information
Recruitment overview
The Office of the Junior Plant Protection Officer, Dumka, has issued Advertisement No. 01/2026-27 for 11 Crop Protectors under the Crop Protection Programme for financial year 2026-27. The posts are under the Agriculture Division of Jharkhand's Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative. Duties include pesticide spraying, farmer awareness and training, and other work assigned by the office.
Who can apply
Applicants need a recognised Class 10 qualification, the prescribed five-day training, local-language knowledge and the ability to ride a bicycle and climb trees. Residence is linked to the block served by the centre. Jarmundi block residents are eligible for both the Jarmundi and Nonihat centres. The minimum age is 18 years; the upper limits are 35 for UR/EWS and 40 for ST, calculated on 30 September 2026.
Submitting the offline form
Applications are accepted from 26 October 2026 and must reach the office by 14 November 2026. Complete the form supplied with the notice, affix a recent self-attested passport-size photograph, sign the declaration and attach self-attested copies of the applicable certificates. Send the package by registered post to the Office of the Junior Plant Protection Officer, Bhagalpur Road, Near Tata Showroom, Dumka, PIN 814101. Late delivery is not accepted.
How merit is calculated
Selection uses a 100-mark assessment: 60 marks for academic qualifications, 10 for local residence and 30 for training. Class 10, Class 12 and graduation percentages are multiplied by 0.4, 0.1 and 0.1 respectively. Five-day training earns 20 marks and an additional two-day training earns 10. Grade or CGPA results are converted using the relevant board or university formula. Higher qualifications and multiple qualifications at the same level do not attract extra marks.
Verification and appointment conditions
The committee may test bicycle riding and tree climbing after publishing the provisional merit list. Original certificates will be checked before final selection. A character certificate is not required with the application but must be produced at final selection, verification or joining. Final lists will appear on the Dumka district website and office notice board. The monthly honorarium is Rs. 11851, with engagement limited to 11 months or an earlier regular appointment; it carries no claim to permanency.
