About the appointment
IIT Gandhinagar's Research & Development Office is recruiting one Project Associate II (Physics) for the Center for Creative Learning under Prof Manish Jain. The temporary position is based in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and carries a one-year appointment under Institute norms. Consolidated remuneration ranges from Rs 50,000 to Rs 90,000 per month, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
Who the role is for
The opportunity is intended for Physics educators interested in hands-on and inquiry-based school STEM education. Applicants can qualify through an M.Sc. in Physics or a Physics-related B.Tech./B.E. with at least two years of post-qualification experience. A B.Sc. with Physics is another eligible route, provided the applicant has at least six years of post-qualification experience. Academic performance must meet the stated thresholds: 60% or equivalent from graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent in Classes 10 and 12.
Teaching experience with grades 8–12, practical experiment design, laboratory instrument use and learning-content development are desirable. The role also calls for communication and facilitation abilities, digital documentation skills, professional spoken and written English, and spoken Hindi.
Work involved
The selected candidate will develop rigorous hands-on Physics modules for grades 6–12 and maintain the learning-resource repository. Responsibilities include adapting and testing activities, models and prototypes; preparing manuals, worksheets, chapters, presentations, videos and articles; and converting suitable activities into school-ready models with product specifications. Coordinating and conducting content testing in schools is also part of the assignment.
