Project and appointment

IIT Dharwad has issued advertisement IITDH/CSE/DAD/8.219/MeitY-NLTM/2026-27/1 for Project Associate I appointments in its Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The recruitment supports the “Speech Technologies in Indian Languages” project, with work involving development of a real-time Language Identification System. There are 5 tentative vacancies, and each appointment can last a maximum of 5 months.

Eligibility and remuneration

The academic requirement is a B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, Electrical & Communication Engineering, or a related stream from a recognized institution. Applicants must additionally meet either the GATE qualification condition or the requirement concerning selection through a national-level examination conducted by IIT. Programming ability and knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Signal Processing are preferred.

The maximum age is 35 years on the selection process date. Qualification and experience are also assessed on that date. Eligible PG candidates receive ₹31,000 per month, while eligible BE candidates receive ₹25,000 per month; both rates carry 16% HRA. These temporary appointments do not create a claim to a regular position or the benefits available to regular institute employees.
