How to write and submit it
- Answer every question in your own words and follow the section-wise word limits: 1,000 words in Section A, 400 in Section B and 50 in Section C.
- Handwrite your answers; typed or printed responses are not allowed. Copying from course material can earn zero for the question, while copying another student's responses can lead to rejection.
- Use ruled A4 paper, leave a 4 cm left margin and space between answers, and secure the pages properly.
- Include your enrolment number, name, full address, signature, date, programme title, course code and title, assignment code and study centre name on the title page.
- Prepare a separate assignment for each course and write the relevant question number beside every answer.
- Submit within the prescribed time to the Coordinator or Programme In-charge of your allotted Study Centre or Programme Study Centre, not to the Student Evaluation Division at headquarters.
- Obtain and retain an acknowledgement of submission, and keep a photocopy of your assignment.
- If you have requested a study centre change, continue submitting to your original centre until IGNOU notifies you of the change.
Submission dates: 31 March 2027 (June term-end exam); 30 September 2026 (December term-end exam). These follow the current listing; dates can differ by session, and the PDF gives a different September deadline.
