• Applicants must meet the qualifications and experience prescribed for a Professor in the relevant discipline, with at least 15 years of aggregate qualifying teaching or research experience.
• Route A: A Ph.D. in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline, active research work, at least 10 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a research score of 120 under Appendix II, Table 2 of the UGC Regulations 2018 are required.
• Route A also requires at least 15 years of university/college teaching as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor and/or equivalent research experience at a university or national-level institution, together with evidence of doctoral guidance. At least one guided student must have submitted a Ph.D. thesis for evaluation.
• Route B: An outstanding professional from academia outside Route A or industry must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant, allied or applied discipline, have 15 years of experience, and provide documentary evidence of significant contributions to the discipline.
• Marathi language knowledge is essential. Only approved teaching experience and experience in a regular pay scale count; time spent acquiring an M.Phil. or Ph.D. is excluded.
• Desirable experience includes university administration, foreign delegations, collaborations, international student affairs, teaching or administration at leading foreign universities, international linkages, and visit or exchange application processing.

• Read Advertisement No. 23 and check the applicable qualification route and supporting evidence.
• Complete the online application through the University recruitment portal between 3 November 2026 and 17 November 2026.

Recruitment and appointment terms

Savitribai Phule Pune University has announced one full-time Director position for its International Centre in Pune under Advertisement No. 23, dated 3 November 2026. The appointment is for five years or until superannuation, whichever occurs first. This University-funded post carries Academic Level 14 pay of Rs. 1,44,200–2,18,200, with entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200 and usual allowances under University rules.

Who can apply

Candidates must satisfy Professor-level eligibility and have at least 15 years of qualifying teaching or research experience. The scholar route requires a relevant Ph.D., at least 10 qualifying journal publications, a research score of 120 and doctoral-guidance evidence. Only approved teaching experience and service in a regular pay scale are counted. Time spent obtaining an M.Phil. or Ph.D. does not count towards teaching or research experience. For doctoral guidance, at least one student must have submitted a thesis for evaluation.

Selection uses the ATR score under the Government Resolution dated 06.10.2025 and an interview. Interview attendance is at the candidate’s own expense.
