More Information
Recruitment and reservation
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has issued Advertisement No. 411002/8/2026-NFR for two non-teaching Deputy Registrar posts. One vacancy is for direct recruitment under EWS and the other is on deputation. Both carry Pay Level 12, with basic pay ranging from Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200.
The EWS vacancy remained unfilled after its earlier advertisement, No. 411002/12/2025-NFR dated 20.02.2026. Eligible unreserved candidates may also apply because the post may be treated as unreserved if a suitable EWS applicant is unavailable. The notice identifies the post as suitable for specified benchmark disabilities, including Low Vision, Hard of Hearing and listed locomotor disabilities.
Check the recruitment route
Both routes require a Master's degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade B. Direct recruitment applicants must satisfy the prescribed academic-administration or Assistant Registrar-level experience requirements. Deputation applicants need the specified government or institutional service background and must be permitted to retain a lien with their parent organisation.
Age, qualifications and experience are assessed on the application closing date. The maximum age is 50 years for direct recruitment and 56 years for deputation, subject to applicable relaxations.
Complete the application and supporting papers
Register in the Non-Faculty Recruitment module, complete the form, upload qualification proofs in one PDF and experience certificates in another, and pay the fee unless exempt. Online submission closes on 11.12.2026 at 23:59 hrs. Submitted details cannot be amended, and incomplete or late applications will be rejected.
Direct applicants need not post a hard copy. Deputation applicants must arrange employer forwarding of the printed application, self-attested documents and certified Annexure-1 so they reach the Registrar by 26.12.2026. Annexure-1 must include the required service, vigilance, integrity and penalty information, along with the CR dossier or appropriately attested ACRs for the last five years.
Selection and deputation tenure
Shortlisting precedes the presentation and interview; additional tests may be conducted if required. Meeting the minimum conditions does not guarantee an interview call. Deputation can continue only until 22.11.2028, the regular incumbent's return, or further orders, whichever occurs first.
