• Para Cook: Matriculation from a school or institution in Himachal Pradesh, plus a degree/diploma in any trade from a government-approved Hotel Management Institute, Institute of Hotel Management or Food Production Institute; alternatively, at least five years of cooking/catering experience in a government or private institution is required alongside matriculation.
• Para Helper: Matriculation from a Board/University recognised by the Himachal Pradesh or Central Government.
• The requirement to have passed Class 10 from a Himachal Pradesh school does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
• Applicants must be Indian citizens, Bonafide Himachalis and permanent residents of the area under Jal Shakti Circle, Reckong Peo, District Kinnaur.
• Applicants must be of sound mind, medically fit and have no involvement in criminal acts.
• No member of the applicant's family may be employed in a Government, PSU or Board job.

• Obtain the prescribed application proforma from the Executive Engineer's office on a working day or download it from the official departmental website.
• Complete the form for the post you wish to apply for; submit a separate form for each post if applying for both.
• Attach self-attested copies of the required certificates, including the detailed matriculation marksheet and applicable qualification or experience documents.

Honorarium-based engagement in Kinnaur

Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag has issued a notice dated 22 October 2026 for one Para Cook and one Para Helper at Jal Shakti Division Reckong Peo. Both vacancies are unreserved and relate to the operation and upkeep of departmental Rest Houses and Inspection Huts. The monthly honorarium is Rs. 9,000 for Para Cook and Rs. 5,500 for Para Helper, with working hours fixed at six hours a day.

Who can apply

Applicants must be Indian citizens, Bonafide Himachalis and permanent residents within the jurisdiction of Jal Shakti Circle, Reckong Peo, District Kinnaur. The age range is 18–45 years. Medical fitness, soundness of mind, no involvement in criminal acts and the absence of any family member employed in a Government, PSU or Board job are also eligibility conditions.

Matriculation is required for both posts. Para Cook applicants additionally need the prescribed hotel management or food production degree/diploma, or at least five years of cooking/catering experience in a government or private institution. Bonafide Himachalis are exempt from the condition requiring Class 10 schooling within Himachal Pradesh.

Obtain the prescribed proforma from the Executive Engineer's office on a working day or download it from the departmental website. Complete it and attach self-attested enclosures. The detailed matriculation marksheet is essential: an application without it will be rejected. Include the applicable qualification, experience, residence, non-employment, character, medical fitness and category documents listed in the notice. Any BPL certificate submitted must meet the stated six-month issuance condition.

Assessment and engagement conditions

The selection committee will assess candidates out of 10 marks, covering matriculation performance, BPL status, relevant experience and a skill test.
