About This Update
Banaras Hindu University has issued a rescheduled exam notice for its School Teacher recruitment under Advt. No. 24/2023-2024. Under the revised schedule, the exam for TGT, PGT, PRT and Principal posts was fixed for 13-15 September 2026. Applications for this recruitment were taken back in 2024, between 13 June and 19 July, so this update matters to candidates who applied at that time.
Post-Wise Vacancies
- PRT Teacher: 06 posts, maximum age 30 years.
- TGT Teacher: 29 posts across subjects including English, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Science, Social Studies, Hindi, Urdu, Music, Physical Education, Agriculture and traditional subjects such as Vyakaran, Jyotish, Sahitya, Veda and Darshan; maximum age 35 years.
- PGT Teacher: 09 posts in Hindi, English, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, History, Darshan, Physical Education and Physics; maximum age 40 years.
- Principal: 03 posts, age 35-55 years.
Who Could Apply
PRT applicants needed 10+2 with 50% marks, a teaching diploma (D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed or Special Education) and CTET. TGT applicants needed a graduation with the relevant subject in all three years with 50% marks, B.Ed and CTET. PGT and Principal applicants needed a master's degree with 50% marks and B.Ed, and Principal applicants also needed the experience laid down in the notification.

Points To Remember
After applying online, candidates had to send the printed application form with enclosures to the Office of the Registrar, Recruitment & Assessment Cell, Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi-221005. The online form required a live photo and a signature in Hindi or English. BHU also issued a date extension notice during the application stage.
